Damn Berry Film

The Damn Berry film is created by four year 7 and year 8 students from Room 11.

It is about netball players but one manages to take good shots and good strategies to win the game. That's because of a drink called Damn Berry. Damn Berry is an energy flavoured drink that helps her to focus and energise her body for her to take incredible shots and spectacular moves. This is why her team won in the end of the game.

Maritime Museum and Riding a Ferry boat

On the fourth of September, Senior students at Glen Taylor School went to the Maritime Museum.

As we students explored many interesting places inside the museum, we enjoyed the historical machines, vehicles and other facts that are shown and explained.

We also did some item hunting and it was fun especially when they also showed the real explosion of a cannon.

Then the next activity we did is riding a ferry boat. I'm so happy when I first hopped inside because it was my first time riding a ferry boat. And the most exciting moment is that when I climb up to see the good view.

My mom was really fascinated because the view is so good and there's a coffee and tea shop at the ground floor.

Well after the adventure we need to go back to school with happy memories from our activities that day.

Sugar Experiment

Yesterday, Rm 11 had a sugar experiment. We are required to be creative, responsible, cooperating but most of all the important thing is enjoyment. In my group, everything is going fine but it's just a bit messy because of the small sugar crystals. But everyone in my group works together.

In our first part we're not finish at all and we got a bit of conflict because we poured a lot of sugar in each air tight container we have. But that's not actually a big problem for my group. We found a lot of ways to guess the nearest measurement of how much grams and how many scoops do we need to do in order to finish on time.

In the end we enjoyed a lot and I think we've done a great job.☻

Never Give Up - Motivational Video by Essyl

  1. The message of the clip for me is that never give up and trust yourself that you can and never believe in your doubts because it would stop you for dreaming better and can give you fear for failure. Because it doesn't mean that you failed, you're going to fail again and again. Failure is there to teach us to correct the wrongs that we did and to motivate to be more stronger and dream for next time we can achieve our dreams.
  2. My dream is to be an Oncologist or an Obstetrician. Because I want to specialize a person's health for me to help them to live better with a healthy life and with a new healthy baby.
  3. I shall study hard and ask experienced people some good advises for me to have an idea on what should I do for me to also master the things that I should master and I should never give up on believing and dreaming.
  • My family and experienced people.
  • By asking my family good advises and support.
       4. Challenges and risks. I should stay strong and never doubt myself.☻

My First Time Studying Abroad

Studying from Philippines to New Zealand is very exciting as I would travel miles away from my home land.

When I was in the airport in the Philippines, I was wondering what would happen if we leave our lovely house, our cute dogs and funny cats, my best friends, our properties, our cars and especially everything. That's because I'm going to miss them. But I know that I need to understand my parents' decision because I know that they're doing this for me and for our family.
As me and my mom enters the air plane, both of my excitement and sadness increases .
My mum told me to relax so I did.

When we already arrived here in Auckland, I was very to see my dad again and I'm excited to go to school so that I can have friends. And we tried to inquire here at Glen Taylor School and my parents decided to enrol me here.

As last week is my first week (June 24- June 27), it was a very happy week as I met a lot of new friends and a best friend. But one thing that I was very surprised is that the lessons here are very easy as I could say it's just a piece of cake especially the Maths and English( reading, writing, LCS). Because in the Philippines the education is very advance and I was surprised that there's no Science subject here but I'm enjoying because I found every subject easy so I don't need to stress out myself.

So I enjoyed having activities and having a lot of things especially learning some different terms and culture because I found it also interesting. And until now I'm enjoying studying and my life here in New Zealand.☻
